Alford loved exploring new places and ideas through literature as a child. Later she enjoyed traveling, learning new languages and about other cultures and trying to capture these sensations and moments of discovery for her stories through the miracle of words.

Her favorite genre is sci-fi which while expanding our imagination examines core values through familiar stories of love, loss, friendship, betrayal, heroism and loneliness on distant and possibly not too distant worlds.
